How to configure a Default Route

Default routes are used to direct packets addressed to networks not explicitly listed in the routing table. 

 A Default Route can be configured by below command.




MyRouter(config)#ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.10.10.2
 Send all packets destined for networks not in routing table to
10.10.10.2



































































































 



MyRouter(config)#ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 s0/0
 Send all packets destined for networks not in my routing table out Serial 0/0 interface
